Stair Race is a frantic race to the top against other players. Each tier of the course is a wall you can only climb by laying down planks, and you carry a stack of them that you gather by running over the scattered building materials in your color. Step onto a slope and your planks are automatically spent to build stairs upward — so the whole game is a loop of collecting enough planks, then spending them to climb before your rivals do. Run out mid-climb and you tumble back down. There's a rough-and-tumble side too: with a big enough stack you can barge into smaller opponents and knock them off their stairs. Winning comes down to greedy, efficient collecting and timing your climbs well.

- Head for areas of the arena where rivals aren't crowding, so you can collect planks uncontested.
