Mahjong Match combines symbol recognition with the order of removing stacked pairs. The player searches for two identical designs, but not every visible tile is immediately usable. Overlap from above, side obstruction, or limited movement space can leave one member of a pair temporarily inaccessible. At the opening, scan the top layer and both outer edges, remember matching symbols already exposed, and compare which pair would reveal the most useful tiles beneath it. The most obvious pair is not necessarily best. If it covers nothing important, removing it spends a reserve match without improving access. When two pairs are available, prefer the one that opens a layer, releases an edge, or expands movement range. Similar designs should be checked in full rather than by dominant color; character, bamboo, and decorative details are easy to confuse under stacked shading. Through the middle, remember tiles that have been seen but remain blocked. Pair them as soon as their covering tile leaves instead of rescanning the whole board after every removal. Near the finish, inspect corners and the lowest layer, making sure every remaining symbol has a reachable partner. Keep one clearly accessible reserve pair that can open the final obstruction. When no obvious match appears, rescan by region and verify availability rather than staring only at the center. A failed layout often begins when a strategically useful reserve pair is removed too early or one side is cleared repeatedly while the opposite lower tiles remain sealed.
